Minnesota workers' comp attorney Michael Scully talks about why he chose to represent injury victims.

I'm Michael Scully, I'm a partner at SiebenCarey. I've been a member of this law firm since 1997. I became a partner in 2004. At SiebenCarey I focus my practice primarily in worker's compensation. I do some personal injury, auto accidents, slip and falls, and dog bites.

I graduated from college in 1978 and I worked for 15 years and I didn't go straight to law school. I started law school in 1993 when I was 37. In the early 1990's, there was an economic slow down and people who had worked in various organizations and businesses were getting laid off after 20 and 30 years of work. I thought, I need to get some type of an advanced degree. My goal at the time in getting an advanced degree was to be marketable when I was 55. I went to law school. I was fortunate enough to clerk here during my last two years of law school. I gained a lot of experience. Just by chance I started working here for one of the partners when I finished law school. Eventually then I was given a case load of my own and I've worked here ever since. The partner that I worked for focused his practice in Worker's Compensation Law.
