Video transcript:
Hi! I’m Cassandra Cato-Louis Marshall
BKA ‘Cato’
When I was about 16 y/o I decided I was bi.
While talking with my sister & bffl about infidelity in marriage...
At 16, I knew I didn’t know what I wouldn’t do!
So, I kept my options open.
They thought I was crazy
& Others thought I was confused.
On my 1st/2nd date with my 1st husband
He asked if I was bi.
I was 23 y/o
I didn’t start dating women until I was in my late twenties
I joined the fledgling Bisexual Resource Center
When it was in Harvard Sq. at the church
I worked with Robyn to include/attract/involve more people of color.
After living a lesbian lifestyle (?)
Here in Boston & in NYC...
I married another man
We joined a married couples with bi partners group at the center in NYC
5 years later, he said he “didn’t agree” with me being bisexual.
Most people – family & friends
Straight & Gay
Think it’s a phase
Even after 35 years!
The last 20+ with a female partner.
I just tell them, “It depends on who’s loving me!”
It’s like the difference between swimming in a pool or swimming in the ocean
Sometimes you don’t want to get chlorine in your eyes or hair
& sometimes you don’t want to get sand up your butt!
