SkillsUSA is dedicated to promoting the diverse range of careers in the trade, technical and skilled service industries. Their mission is to improve the quality of the American workforce through a combination of soft skills and technical training.

Since 1965, the organization has impacted the lives of more than 13 million members, comprised of students, faculty and industry partners. With more than 360,000 new members joining annually, SkillsUSA is preparing a workforce that epitomizes the value of Career and Technical Education.

Each year, SkillsUSA hosts the world's largest showcase of skilled trades at the National Leadership and Skills Conference. This year's installment was held in Louisville, KY in June and had more than 18,000 participants.

The NLSC is also the home to the annual SkillsUSA Championships and the TeamWorks competition. Teams of four — carpenter, plumber, mason, & electrician work together to build a structure from plans provided by SkillsUSA in just 16 hours.

WorkingNation's filmmakers followed the team representing Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Through their story, the spirit of the SkillsUSA Championships and TeamWorks competition shines through.
