The bells of St. Michael, Cornhill, are known to be the 2nd worst ring of bells in the world. They are 42 cwt and sound awful. This is because some of them were recast in the 60s and instead of casting good bells and retuning the rest, they actually cast the new bells to the profiles of the old bells and tuned the others to 'fit in' too. The Treble and 2nd are absurdley bad. That said we did ring the light six (bells 3 to 8) and it was actually a good, characteristic ring of six!
