I produced this video to show how I get on dialysis nearly every night at home. I do not recommend that anyone change how they initiate dialysis based on this video but I did want to present one way self dialysis can be accomplished in the home.

I do recommend that people with Stage 5 Kidney Disease investigate the more frequent dialysis option, high dose dialysis. Dialysis more than three times a week is not for everyone but if it is for you, you are going to love a high dose of dialysis compared to a three day a week dose.

After 11 years of an incenter three day a week dose, I switched to high dose dialysis at home in August 2001.

Dialyzing at home has improved my physical and mental health, and has minimized the overall burden imposed by dialysis .

If you are interested in more information about high dose home hemodialysis, check out the Home Dialysis Central website:
the forum area of Home Dialysis Central provides the opportunity to connect with people all over the world who are benifiting from an increased dose of dialysis.
