To probe the concept of Prestressing Induced Frame System (PIFS) experimentally, some scaled-down but kinematically equivalent to their prototypes building models with and without eccentric loads on the roof level were tested on a shake table. Those building models were rigidly connected to a base plate. Each building model was an assembly of prefabricated columns and floor slabs tightened together by post-tensioning with the help of external tendons. The time-histories used for the testing had peak accelerations up to 1.3g. The model was prepared by CSULB students of the prestressed concrete class.
