Written by Jerry Lee Miller, this is a lament on the threat to the Susquehanna River, the Mother of Rivers, by the frackers. The Susquehanna travels 440 miles from New York, through Pennsylvania and northern Maryland, supplying most of the water that enters the Chesapeake Bay. Performed by Streetbeets, an Earth loving, community building band from Lancaster, PA. Jerry Lee Miller (vocals, Native American flute, harmonica), Paul Montigny (percussion), and Marty Dutcher (vocals and acoustic guitar). This video was sent to the Susquehanna River Basin Commission asking them to halt ALL extractions of water from the river. Numerous environmental groups and tens of thousands of PA citizens are calling for this halt! Despite all the resistance from we the people, who want the poisoning and depletion of our public water by the gas companies to end,on March 15, 2012 the SRBC issued it's decision to approve extracting even more water (perhaps up to 26-27 BILLION gallons over the next 4 years.) Yet we will listen to the Voice of the Susquehanna. She will tell us what we can do.
