NOTE: Keep the screws separate and organized so you don't mix them up. They're different sizes. Also, it's only ONE screw you remove from under the battery.

UPDATE July 2014: I purchased the Samsung 840 EVO MZ-7TE1T0BW 1TB 2.5" SATA Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) and installed it on the same laptop. Works great. No problem transferring all the data using the bundled migration software. After the install the Samsung utility software (Magician) states: "SATA Interface: Your SSD is connected to a SATA 6 Gb/s (SATA 3) port and should show maximum performance." IMO, SSD is the best way to improve your laptop's performance.

This is the link to Dells support site on how to the Palm-Rest Assembly: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs.... It is pretty good but doesn't show you how to remove the hard drive.

I used the large Phillips in the Jewelers Precision Screwdriver Set - similar to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-66-039-...

I replaced my 320 GB hard drive with the Seagate SEST750LX003 - 750GB Momentus XT Solid-State Hybrid Hard Drive
