Sorry about the over-reverb-like sound. I had microphone problems during this home recording session in which my mic repeatedly kept going out and coming back on during the takes of the session. I finally learned that the only way to keep the mic from going out was to hold the mic very close to my mouth. So, even though I had the bass control almost flat and the reverb fairly low, I got this over-modulation/echoey type sound. Even with this problem, this take was better than any of the takes on 5 previous recording days (which did not have this mic glitch). I hope you like it.

My rendition of Bobby Darin's "Dream Lover" which soared to #2 on the Billboard pop charts in 1959, his last hit before the highly-acclaimed super-hit "Mack The Knife" (#1 for 9 consecutive weeks), which came out about 4 months later. Darin, a gifted, multi-talented performer, was a vocalist/pianist/guitarist/drummer/songwriter/arranger/actor and the composer of "Dream Lover". He was married to actress, Sandra Dee from 1960-67. Darin was known for his great ambition and tireless work ethic, partially fueled by his belief that he was living on borrowed time, after overhearing his doctor tell his mother, after Darin's childhood bout with rheumatic fever, that he would be lucky to live to the age of 16. The rheumatic fever had permanently damaged his heart. Darin died in December 1973 at age 37, with ex-wife Dee at his bedside, after open-heart surgery to correct a valve problem.
