Rihanna defends ex-boyfriend Chris Brown who famously beat her in 2009. Hey guys, I'm Misty Kingma welcome back to ClevverMusic. Rihanna's highly anticipated interview in her native Barbados on Oprah's Next Chaper is coming this Sunday at 9pm on OWN, and a new promo has just appeared. In this telling preview, Rihanna is tearful and reliving the night in February 2009 when she faced violence from then-boyfriend: singer Chris Brown.
In the new sneak peek, we get inside her head, as a sobbing Rihanna explains how she felt that night, and how she attempted to process her feelings for Brown after the notorious beating that left her black and blue. "I lost my best friend," she told Oprah, "...everything I knew switched -- switched overnight. And I couldn't control that..." She explains that was not easy for her to deal with, and claims "It became a circus and I felt protective... I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help... Nobody's gonna say he needs help." She ends with a selfless confession: "I was more concerned about him."
We admire Rihanna's compassion and for her opening up about this tragic night. This definitely explains why the two rekindled their flame this year, not to mention recording two songs together? Rihanna reveals that Chris needs 'help'- but with what exactly? Sounds like there's more to this story, maybe we'll get more answer when the interview airs on Sunday at 9pm.
