This is part of a segmented 61-star speedrun of Super Mario Galaxy, playing as Luigi. Segment 10 has 3 stars: Buoy Base 1 - The Floating Fortress, Ghostly 6 - Matter Splatter Mansion, and Buoy Base 2 - The Secret of Buoy Base.
The Floating Fortress (1m18s) - If you're wondering, I don't swim away from the cage too soon because the cage has to be on-camera for it to break, for some reason. After breaking the cage, surfacing near those yellow platforms is tricky because the camera will often not cooperate very well. I got onto the yellow platforms a little faster than usual, despite needing a walljump to get up. I'm very pleased with how the rest of the level went. Note that I skipped the screw by collecting the third star chip with a backflip (Luigi's feet can kind of go through the platform that way).
Matter Splatter Mansion (0m46s) - I explained the end strategy a little bit in another video (clip 2 of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOxU1c... ). Before I started this segment, I was pretty sure this would be the main trouble spot of the segment, because of the high-precision end trick. But after enough practice, I was clearly having more trouble with Buoy Base 1. In the past couple of days I've probably been getting this level down 75% of the time (still not sure how though), as opposed to maybe 10% for Buoy Base 1. I did get hit by a bat before the launch star, but it didn't lose any time and the bat's just tricky to avoid at times.
The Secret of Buoy Base (0m38s) - Pretty straightforward level, fortunately nothing silly happened here.
I think Floating Fortress and Matter Splatter Mansion both have really neat strategies, so this is one of my favorite segments.
