'Tales of the Moon' celebrating the Autumn Harvest Moon Festival

This community performance featured traditional and contemporary performing arts of Asia based on themes of Moon and Harvest,with music, dance, drama and martial arts from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, India and Vietnam and some fireworks. 'Tales of the Moon' performances recognised and celebrated the lively local performing arts culture, including residents from many different backgrounds and the Chinese heritage of Bendigo and district.

Featuring Kita Performing Arts Company directed by Kim Dunphy; with performers Seung Hi Lee, Sabrina Chou, Soo Yeun You, Ruby Kao and Anjali Sengupta, Bendigo Chinese Association Performing teams: Plum Blossom Dancing Team, Lion Team and the Dragon Team; Bendigo Training Academy; CreateAbility Events Network; Echuca West Primary School; Flora Hill Primary School; Kalliana School; Sing Australia Choir, Bendigo; Roz Avent Dancers, Bendigo; and Over the Moon folkdancers, Castlemaine.

This project was funded by Arts Victoria, through an Arts Residencies Grant; Regional Arts Victoria through a Regional Arts Fund, the City of Greater Bendigo, Victorian Multicultural Commission, Regional One Credit Union.
