This is an experiment I did with the Electro-Harmonix Harmonizer/Vocoder...the female-sounding backup vocals and harmonies were also done with the preset harmonies on the EH 256-band Harmonizer/Vocoder. I am using an old Casio SK-1 sampling keyboard to control
the vocoder, and a Shure Beta 58 mic for the vocals and the formant control of the EH Harmonizer/Vocoder. It was my first experience ever using a vocoder, and it was incredibly simple to use.
I was impressed with the performance of the new EH device and I highly recommend it for home recording and/or live performances.
It is a high-quality device and tracks very well, and it was designed by the same person at EMS who made vocoding famous.
This was recorded on a BOSS BR1600CD unit, and the "Seinfeld" sounding bass was provided by a preset on the Yamaha DTXPressIII
electric drum kit. I used a 1981 Ibanez musician guitar (direct, no amplifier) and utilized the built-in guitar effects on the BOSS recorder.
This was written, arranged, performed and recorded by me in my living room over the course of about 2 hours. The song just kinda wrote itself
