Richard Dawkins has made his name as the scourge of organized religion who branded the Roman Catholic Church "evil" calling the Pope "a leering old villain in a frock." He has also absurdly implied that parents who teach their children religion should be considered child abusers. However he now stands accused of "cowardice" after refusing four invitations to debate the existence of God with a renowned Christian philosopher. Dawkins maintains that Professor Craig is not a figure worthy of his attention and has reportedly said that such a contest would "look good on Dr. Craig's CV but not on his own."

However know one buys his accuses when Prof Craig is a research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, in California, and the author of 30 books and hundreds of scholarly articles on Christianity. He has debated with leading thinkers including x-atheist Anthony Flew, Daniel Dennett, A.C.Grayling, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris.

Dr. Come wrote to Dawkin saying, "The absence of a debate with the foremost apologist for Christian theism is a glaring omission on your CV and is of course apt to be interpreted as cowardice on your part. I notice by contrast, that you are happy to discuss theological matters with television and radio presenters and other intellectual heavyweights like Pastor Ted Haggard of the National Association of Evangelicals and Pastor Keenan Roberts of the Colorado Hell House."

William Lane Craig on Dawkin's Delusion, "Several year ago my atheist colleague Quentin Smith unceremoniously crowned Stephen Hawking's argument against God in A Brief History of Time as "the worst atheistic argument in the history of Western thought. With the advent of The God Delusion, the time has come I think, to relieve Hawking of this weighty crown and to recognize Richard Dawkins' accession to the throne." From Contending with Christianity's Critics, pp. 2-5 Ed. Paul Copan, Nashville, Tenn.: Broadman and Holman.

HISTORY FOR CREATION IN SCIENCE

Rene Descartes and Francis Bacon are generally regarded as the key figures in the development of scientific methodology. Both had systems in which God was important, and both seem more devout than the average for their era.

Rene Descartes was a French mathematician, scientist and philosopher who has been called the father of modern philosophy. His school studies made him dissatisfied with previous philosophy: He had a deep religious faith, which he retained to his dying day, along with a resolute, passionate desire to discover the truth. (1596-1650)

Sir Francis Bacon, a philosopher rejected atheism as being the result of insufficient depth of philosophy, stating, "It is true, that a little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth man's mind about to God; for while the mind of man looketh upon second causes scattered, it may sometimes rest in them, and go no further; but when it beholdeth the chain of them confederate & linked together, it must needs fly to Providence & Deity." (1561-1627)

Albert Einstein ~Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind. (1879-1955)

Sir Isaac Newton ~The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion on an intelligent and powerful Being. -(1642-1727)
