Culture critic/reality TV cameo-maker/Barneys window dresser/creative ambassador-at-large Simon Doonan has just released his fifth book, "Gay Men Don't Get Fat." It's a tongue-in-cheek guide to life, aimed at straight women, that doles out advice and exaggeration in equal, adorably arranged portions. (Doonan writes his own get-out-of-jail-free card: "Nobody in his right mind expects a gay to stick to the hard facts.") The Daily sat down with the writer at Bathtub Gin in New York to discuss his book's title, gay food versus straight food and his copious, playful use of gay slurs.
