Angry Video Game Nerd (Episode 82) Castlevania (Part 4)
In this one the nerd will play those games that came out in non nintendo consoles. Like Bloodlines (or New Generation) for the Sega Genesis, And the groundbreaking Symphony of the night, That marked the beginning of a new era for the series , suprisingly, in portable consoles.
Castlevania Bloodlines (1994) was Konami take of the series in the Sega genesis. It pushed the genesis capabilities to it's limits, the best thing konami was know for with that console. It was hard, and the controls were restrictive but not so much as Dracula X. A good addition to the series.
Castlevania Symphony of the night (1997) was a follow up of Rondo of Blood the game that changed the series direction forever. This time the game takes inspiration from Metroid and the player must explore the castle while adquiring new powers and level up trough the game. Every portable Castlevania game from that one would feature the same style of gameplay progression, a level system, Equipment, exploration and less focus on platforms. As a good detail. the PS1 version is not even complete, due to time contraints. The saturn version features more levels.
