In SimCity, you used to only have to worry about natural disasters, aliens, and giant lizard monsters. SimCity was a simple place with simple problems. This parable shows that always-on DRM and server queues can have grave consequences beyond just ruining the night where you had set aside all of your time to play SimCity. But now because the servers are down, I guess you'll just do the dishes or read a book or spend some time with the people you love. As I said, grave consequences. Because Sim City actually looks like a pretty cool video game, and I'd really like to play it.

Tomm Polos as Phil Simms, the Mayor of Sim City
James Grosch as Bruce, his trusted aide.
