Chandra Pitts, Executive Director of One Village Alliance, gives an eyewitness account as youths in Wilmington, DE were detained immediately after Back to School Party in what was called a curfew violation. Police officers were present at all times during the party, an organized event at a legitimate facility, Wilmington Jaycees. Officers allegedly allowed the youth to exit at 12am which was the designated time for the party to end. The youths were released to waiting Patty wagons and patrol cars and detained in a holding facility improvised at the Walnut St YMCA.
