In celebration of Black History Month 2011, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum presented a special film series, "Double Exposure: African-American Music on Film," highlighting the central role of African-Americans in the history of rock and roll.
Following the US premiere of the film The Godmother of Rock and Roll: Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Gayle Wald, Professor of English at George Washington University and author of Shout Sister Shout: The Untold Story of Rock-and-Roll Trailblazer Sister Rosetta Tharpe, led a discussion of the film.
