Soloing Basin Mountain's East Face: The trek to the base of the slab is about 8 miles from the Garden trail-head via Saddleback Mountain.
The opening picture outlines the route I took up the face. I was alone so most of the video is a combination of what the area looks like from a various perspectives en route. The final segment is from about 100' from the summit; still on the bushwhack. The face sits far below at this point. In all, I spent about 1.5 hours climbing the face, 1.5 hours in the bushwhack in about 3' of unconsolidated snow. Day totals = 17 miles, 5200+ elevation gain over about 12.75 hours.
