PILI's mission is to cultivate a lifelong commitment to public interest law among law students and lawyers to better meet the legal needs of low-income individuals and families across Illinois.

Our Law Student Internship and Graduate Fellowship Programs place law students and recent law school graduates at legal service agencies, with PILI providing supplemental educational, networking and mentoring opportunities.

Our Alumni Network builds and maintains the connection between past PILI Interns and Fellows and the public interest law community through educational, networking and leadership opportunities.

Our Pro Bono Initiative Program engages law firms, corporations and others seeking to launch or grow their pro bono efforts, enhancing the scope and availability of pro bono legal services.

Through these programs, PILI leverages resources from within the legal community into thousands of hours of legal assistance each year.
