The University of Rochester Simon School of Business and IBM announced winners of the first Watson academic case competition. Part of a series for students studying a variety of academic concentrations, the competition seeks new ideas of how to apply IBM's Watson technology to address societal and business challenges while helping students advance technology and business skills for jobs of the future. This news is a first in a series of global initiatives that IBM Watson is conducting with universities to help advance skills and develop curricula to support a new era of cognitive computing. The UR and IBM competition is intended to field new ideas and drive awareness of the need for students across disciplines to be schooled in next generation technology and its implications on business and society.
