Volunteers are at the heart of all we do as ASTD Chapter leaders, but we frequently forget to offer them the profuse thanks they so clearly deserve. This interactive one-hour session will offer best practices in thanking and rewarding our fellow volunteers, draw from a few case studies to provide guidance on how to develop and implement a successful volunteer recognition program, and engage participants in brief discussions of their own best practices and the challenges they face.

Topics to be covered:
• Volunteer recognition as an integral element of all we do
• Developing low-cost, high value recognition and reward efforts
• Inspiring volunteer participation through our own volunteer efforts
• Sustaining a successful volunteer program

Learning objectives: participants should leave the session with an understanding of how to motivate volunteers, an ability to create successful volunteer recognition events, and at least two ideas they can immediately use to strengthen their chapter's volunteer program.

Presenter: Paul Signorelli & Rick Kerner, National Advisors for Chapters
