Roger Batchelder, 74, of LaPorte City, Iowa, was helping a friend clear trees from a field when one of the trees fell the wrong way and landed on his arm, severing it just above the wrist. A team of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics plastic surgeons and an orthopedic surgeon worked to reattach the hand and forearm and Roger is on his way to rehabilitation to try to regain function of the severed limb.
