JUSTICE 4 ALAN BLUEFORD COALITION PRESS CONFERENCE, TUESDAY OCTOBER 16, 2012, ALAMEDA COUNTY COURTHOUSE OAKLAND, CA.

Complete and unedited

In a blistering offensive (reminiscent of the Oscar Grant Movement) against the DA's report of October 3, 2012, and against OPD miss-conduct and murder, the 'coalition put the DA and Police Chief Jordan on trial, denouncing as unprofessional, biased and insulting, the DA investigation of the Oakland police shooting of high school senior Alan Blueford. Speakers challenged the main stream press and the community to "do more," and to "stand up [community] and do something." Speakers included parents of Alan Blueford, Jeralyn and Adam Blueford and attorneys for the family John Burris, Walter Riley and Anne Weills. "As a community response to the widespread and intolerable practice of racial profiling which targeted Alan Blueford and his friends, the Justice 4 Alan Blueford (JAB) Coalition is organizing a Bay Area Families March against Racial Profiling on Saturday November 10th, beginning at noon at 14th and Broadway in downtown Oakland." Jab is "bringing together families of victims of police intimidation, brutality and murder to call for an end to racial profiling and consequent criminalization of black and brown men."
