Three men shaped the future of Lincoln Road Mall in the 1950's, Sirkin, Hertz and Lapidus. This video documents a talk by Deborah Desilets at the Jewish Museum of Florida on Miami Beach. Deborah is an author and architect who worked with Morris Lapidus and has become a champion of the movement to include Lincoln Road Mall in the National Register of HIstoric Places. The issue comes before the Miami Beach City Council this fall. Children and grandchildren (now adults) of the three men spoke about their memories: Alan Sirkin, Pixie Hertz, Steve Hertz. Marcia Jo Zerivitz, Founder and Executive Director of the Jewish Museum of Florida, gave a brief history of Jews in Florida. She spoke about when and where Jews were allowed to live in Miami Beach, beginning in 1763.
