Long-time activist and devout practitioner of non-violence, Francisco "Pancho" Ramos Stierle, is facing deportation after being arrested while meditating in front of Oakland City Hall during the early morning hours of Monday, November 14, following the raid of the camp. Although Pancho has since been released, his immigration challenges have not gone away.
Although the Alameda County District Attorney's office chose not to file any charges against Ramos Stierle, he was not released after his court appearance as ICE had placed an immigration hold preventing his release.
ICE arrived early Thursday morning and have since transferred Ramos Stierle into their custody.
