Nebraska is currently facing its worst drought since the Dust Bowl of the Great Depression. The least amount of rain fell on the state this summer since records were kept in 1895. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Drone Journalism Lab in collaboration with the UNL NIMBUS lab recently flew an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, carrying a camera, nearly 400 feet above the drought depleted Platte River, an important water source for many Nebraska farms and communities.
