Following on from a successful launch for the rebranding of the shopping centre which saw the centre revert back to its forma name of The Eastgate in April 2011, the hunt was on for somebody that all of our shoppers could relate to to become the face of the shopping centre in new advertising campaigns.

So we could appeal to the masses, we partnered with Heart radio during August who with the help of the 'groovy booth' in the shopping centre invited our shoppers to take part in the competition and entre to be the face of Eastgate.

The response was fantastic, and the level of participants was more than we could of wished for...with over 200 entries we had to short list our favourites down to just 50 ready for the live voting on Facebook.

Voting went live in September and shoppers had 10 days to vote for their favourite, it was great to see so many people interacting and really getting behind some of our entries. After the 10 days we were left with our five finalists who would then go in front of a judging panel which included the centre management, who had some great campaigns lined up for the winner! Judging was a really tough process as we had to ensure that the winner could model for all categories, fashion, entertainment, Easter, Christmas and the list went on...

The decision was made to have two winners so we really could appeal to the wider audience of the city and Harriet and Chloe were announced as the winners...
