I get a lot of questions on 609 letters & honestly I don't know why people are teaching credit repair this way simply because it has no grounds or bearings on disputing in accurate information.. That's why it's important to know the laws under the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) which are your rights as a consumer against the CRA's (Credit Reporting Agencies)...

If you're trying to dispute information then you need to use the statutes under section 611 & not section 609 as section 611 goes over "Procedure in case of disputed accuracy" & section 609 goes over "Disclosures to consumers"...

So if you are ever trying to file a lawsuit or complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) & the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) using a 609 letter then it won't work simply because you're using the wrong statute to dispute your items...

I'm not saying it doesn't work but it's definitely not the correct way to dispute items if you want faster results...

So hopefully this give you a better understanding about how the 609 letter works...
