As Somerset actively reviews the commercial
activity along Route 6, Route 138
and Route 103 for future business expansion options,
town officials are streamlining the zoning
and the permitting process as a step to incentivize commercial expansion.

The town has always been very efficient and
accommodating in their dealings with us.

Currently we have under construction a
40,000 square-foot addition all combined it will
be a seven million dollar investment we will be making in the town of Somerset.

As one of Southern New England's most
desirable suburban communities, Somerset features waterfront access, quiet neighborhoods an excellent school system, extensive town services as well as
convenient shopping and business districts.

Although much of Somerset has been
rebuilt into mostly single-family homes,
a traditional looking, New England village,
retains an original flavor at the north end of town.

The Village Waterfront Park area, also provides amenities for boating and picnicking. In addition Somerset has a
town beach and an adjacent recreational
area along its waterfront and offers
easy access to both the Taunton River

and highway route 79 via the Veterans
Memorial Bridge. A wide variety of local
businesses both large and small, have
benefited from long-term support of its residents.

Somerset's main industry has been power
generation. With shipbuilding along the Taunton River.

Historically supported from these
industries and its citizens, it has helped
the town maintain one of the finest
education systems in Southeastern
Massachusetts with a recently
constructed 82 million dollar state
of the art high school as its flagship.

Somerset Berkley Regional High School we have
robotics labs and engineering design labs and we're
really excited about our new TV studio
that we will have next year we want to
build partnerships with our local
business and higher education
communities we feel that is very
important for our students to
demonstrate and apply those skills that
they're learning in classes outside of
the school walls. This requires great
collaboration between the School

Department and the town and also the
local business community and by doing so
we know that all of our students and the
town will benefit from this

collaboration. A stellar school system
and a wide array of exceptional town
services including police, fire, water, sewer, rated Somerset number six in the 2015
real estate report of the hottest
communities in Massachusetts.

Today, there is collaborative effort by
private, government and educational
partners to diversify and modernize
existing industrial assets within the
southeastern region of Massachusetts, while simultaneously developing new economic clusters.

Waterfront District Ready for Development

Somerset is well poised to take
advantage of this moment with the
creation of a waterfront district and
the opportunity to develop a niche
manufacturing such as health care
centers, innovation biotechnology with
easy highway access as well as ship building and distribution with deep water access.

Plans for the establishment of the new
Slades Ferry Landing district with proper
signage for major roadways are already
in the works.

Sustainable economic development can not exist without the support of its business community.

The common thread to Somerset, are the
amazing people who live there.
Family-friendly New England town, great
public schools,
developable land,
commercial districts,
high demand residential housing
inventory, established industries,
attractive quality of life.

Police Chief: Somerset is such a close-knit community
with it. With a positive identity
and everybody knows each other and cares
about each other, cares about their
property, cares about their family, cares about their schools. So having that in mind,
it's a great place to live!

Easy access to Providence, Newport, RI and Southeastern Massachusetts.

With so many assets in play and boundless opportunities, now more than ever,

Somerset is open for business!
