Chairman of Yad Vashem Avner Shalev responds to graffiti discovered on Yad Vashem's Campus
Early in the morning of 11/6/2012, ten pieces of scathing graffiti in Hebrew were discovered in the open campus of Yad Vashem, a large part scrawled across the walls of the Warsaw Ghetto Square monument. The particularly disturbing slurs included poisonous attacks on Zionism. The main motif was that Zionism caused the Holocaust.
"We are shocked and dazed by this callous expression of burning hatred against the Zionists and Zionism," said Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev. "This unprecedented act crosses a red line."
