On Saturday morning July 24th 2010 at approximately 2:15am, Madison County Florida Sheriff's Office received a call that a van had been stolen and was headed south on Valdosta Hwy toward Madison. Deputy David Myers was dispatched to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Assisted by Patrolman Reggie Alexander of the Madison City Police Dept., Deputy Myers was able to locate the vehicle which had turned north onto Rocky Ford Rd. Deputy Myers stopped the vehicle in front of Fraleigh's Nursery.
The driver, Brittany Monts, was not compliant to Deputy Myers instructions and began to resist arrest. Having stolen a vehicle two weeks prior and a history of combativeness with law enforcement, Deputy Myers took no chances when Mont's resisted him. Monts was tasered then arrested and taken to the Madison County Jail.
