Pandemics and resilient cities | Dr. Robert Muggah | Singularity University
Robert Muggah will share insights into the spread and impact of pandemics, why they are becoming more common, and how cities can help minimize threats now and into the future.
Pandemics are increasing in frequency - we need to respond to COVID-19 but expect more of the same in the coming years. We need to accelerate global cooperation and all-of-society responses to address them, challenging at a time when cooperation is limited. Creating mayoral networks, enhancing city detection capacities, adopting early and sustained layered interventions, redesigning and repurposing cities, and shoring up pandemic preparedness are all key.
