We present our INDIAN HISTORY lessons!

* INDIAN HISTORY - Great Battles - Third Battle of Panipat 1761 *

The Third Battle of Panipat was a decisive battle that the Maratha empire's expeditionary force fought against the invading Afghan Durrani empire, on the holy day of Makar Sankranti, 1761. An adverse outcome diminished the strength of the Marathas, and gave the British some leeway. The fierce battle saw a large number killed, maimed, and finally many of the survivors enslaved. The imprint of this is etched on the collective subconscious.

There have been three Battles of Panipat : The First Battle of Panipat fought was in 1526, between Babur and Ibrahim Lodi. The Second Battle of Panipat was in 1556 when Akbar defeated Hemu.

We trace his footprints on the sands of time with our series!
