Opponents of Hong Kong's contentious extradition bill are staging a protest march for the second consecutive Sunday. The third major protest in eight days went ahead on June 16, 2019, the day after Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced that her government would suspend action on the bill.

Many protesters wore black, singing and chanting that anything less than a full withdrawal of the bill would not be enough. Some marchers voiced demands for the chief executive to resign, while others criticised police for using “excessive force” at a protest on June 12.
