Investigators in the United States have returned Richard Jewell's pickup truck to his home in Atlanta while continuing to look for clues linking the security guard to the Olympic bombing.

Federal forensic specialists spent Thursday poring over a mountain of material taken from Jewell's home.

A new piece of background on the bombing suspect has him once claiming to own an anarchist-style manual which often include bomb-making instructions.

United States investigators returned Richard Jewell's pickup truck to his home on Thursday after towing it away for examination the day before.

The media, who were kept 20 yards back, gathered outside the apartment to record the event.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U-S is still looking for clues linking the security guard to the Olympic bombing.

The F-B-I, which has shipped most items taken from Jewell's home to its Washington laboratory, is maintaining a public silence on the investigation's progress.

But a senior federal official has said he doubts there will be any quick answers.

F-B-I Director Louis Freeh said a number of suspects were being looked at in connection with the Olympic bombing.

33-year-old Jewell - the ex-deputy sheriff hailed as a hero after last
Saturday's explosion at Centennial Olympic Park - has denied
responsibility for the bomb.

He stayed inside the northeast Atlanta apartment he shares with his mother, as federal agents came and went from his home on Thursday.

The pipe bomb exploded Saturday morning in a hail of nails that killed one Georgia woman and injured 111 other people at an open-air concert outside the park's A-T and T pavilion.

Eight people are still in hospital - one in critical condition.
