In the year 1700, a massive Mega Earthquake struck the Northwest region of the United States off the coast of Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. This geological event is known as The 1700 Cascadia Earthquake and made the history books for one of the largest earthquakes to ever hit the Pacific Northwest. Watch this video and educate yourself about the history of earthquakes along the Juan de Fuca Plate, as well as what to do if you experience a large quake while living in, or visiting the beautiful coastal communities than dot the coastline of this seismic active zone.
