on Feb. 15th 2011 REFF (with AOS, Art is Open Source, and FakePress) held a workshop in London at Goldsmiths University of London. The theme of the workshop was the reinvention of reality through critical practices and ubiquitous technologies. During the workshop a short history of the REFF project was narrtes, quickly followed by a hands-on session in which the cross-media publishing tools released by FakePress under a GPL3 license have been installed and tested out:
MACME: a cross media publishing plugin for the Wordpress platform allowing to transform any blog into an ubiquitous tool for publishing creating PDFs, ePub ebooks, QRCodes, location based media and augmented reality content.
KNOWNERS: a knowledge sharing ecosystem built on the wordpress platform
CoS, CONSCIOUSNESS OF STREAMS: a ubiquitous narrative first shown at the transmediale festival on 2011, through which FakePress created a global publication in which more than 35000 authors have created a realtime emotional map of the world
REFF.erence - RomaEuropa FAKEFactory conference and launch event
il 20 Marzo 2009 al Senato Italiano RomaEuropaFAKEFactory (REFF) ha presentato REFF.erence una conferenza sulla creatività e l'arte nell'era contemporanea, attraverso proprietà intellettuale, pratiche di appropriazione e ricontestualizzazione del reale, politiche di gestione culturale e modelli di innovazione.
Il REFF chiuderà la sua prima fase, il concorso, il 21 Giugno (per le sezioni di videoarte, letteratura, musica e law art) e il 31 Luglio (per le sezioni di architettura e GIFart). Una pubblicazione, presentata durante un evento/happening tra Roma, Londra e New York, documenterà questa prima fase.
On March 20th RomaEuropaFAKEFactory (REFF) created REFF.erence at the Italian Senate, a conference on creativity and art in the contemporary era, through intellectual property, the practices of appropriation and recontextualization of reality, cultural management politics and innovation models.
REFF will close its first phase, the competition, on June 21st (for the videoart, literature, music and law art sections) and on July 31st (for architecture and GIFart sections). A publication, presented during an event/happening in Rome/London/New York, will document this first phase.
