Stefon Alexander (aka POS) is one of the tallest trees in the forest of Twin Cities hip-hop. His punk-influenced music confronts listeners with raw production and intense lyrics. As a solo artist and founding member of the Doomtree collective, Stef continues to push the boundaries of traditional hip-hop. His last album 'Audition' was released in January, 2006.
Making Music is a series produced by the Whole Music Club at the University of Minnesota. It features long-format discussions with talented musicians about their art. The leader of Dirty Projectors, David Longstreth, took to the McGuire stage at the Walker Art Center for a special installment of Making Music. We learned how the multi-instrumentalist crafts his music from a wide assortment of sounds, voices, and anything else with a touch of inspiration, as displayed in the Dirty Projector's 2009 release "Bitte Orca".
