The Carolina Externship program provides students with full-time practical training opportunities with firms and offices in North and South Carolina. As a part of the externship, law students work under the mentorship and guidance of experienced lawyers.
The Carolina Externship is offered during the summer academic term, which begins the last week of May. In addition to the practicum placement in a legal office, students also attend a 2-hour-per-week seminar led by a member of the Wake Forest University School of Law faculty. This additional classroom component allows students to focus their attention on specific issues related to a civil practice.
