--------------------------------- Hi, this is Lisa Michelle Umina from Halo Publishing. In this video, I'll answer the most important you can ask yourself:
Why should you self publish your book?
Lets review the difference between traditional and self-publishing. First, with a traditional publishing, you have to ask yourself: has anybody made you an offer you cannot refuse, and how long do you want to wait to get your writing career off the ground? Which sounds better to you? Permanently selling the rights to your book or owning 100% rights to your book?
With self-publishing, you remain in the driver's seat. Self-publishing doesn't mean you're going to be doing all this all by yourself. It's quite the opposite. You have a team dedicated to bringing your vision to reality in a way that makes you professional and sets you up for success. The benefits to self-publishing? You own 100% control, ownership, rights and the royalties are in your favor.
Lets recap. The difference between traditional and self-publishing. Traditional, you're signing your rights over to the traditional publisher. You might have to wait years before your book is published with a traditional publisher. And third, you do not own control of the book; they own control of their book.
Self-publishing; you own control, the rights, the ownership and the destiny of you and your book. Thank you.
