This is an overview of the http://3d.triMirror.com real-time virtual fitting website and 3D CAD Designer Tool.

The triMirror Designer Tool uses real-time cloth simulation technology, which captures all aspects of the garment, including the physical characteristics of the cloth and its measurements, shows where the garment is tight or loose and how it behaves when the avatar is in action. The clothes respond so much like the real material that the user can almost touch them.

With an easy-to-use design interface, designers can create 3D garment models for the world to try on and recommend. Designers are also able to import garment CAD patterns using industry standard DXF ASTM file formats and create 3D models, all while incorporating the garment designs' measurements, textures, and cloth parameters such as stretch and thickness. The 3D garment models created from retailers' designs are available for virtual try-on on the triMirror portal.

Here, you can create your customized fashion model by choosing skin and hair color, hair style, body size, body shape, and detailed body measurements. You can then browse a catalogue of clothes, see garment details, try on all of the available sizes, add them to your favourites list and view recent try-on history, and to purchase them.

You can view the virtual fitting, all in real-time and streamed from our servers to your browser without any downloading or buffering, using normal view, transparent view, and tension view. You can also create outfits with various real-life shoes.

You can also see your fashion model and fitting experience in various 3D environments. The fashion model can be put into various static poses (arms out, turning, etc.) and in real-time animations (walking, twisting, etc.) and control the camera zoom, angle, and rotation. You can save your avatar customizations and your garment try-on history and favorites list and access them later.

Special thanks to the Canada Media Fund (http://www.cmf-fmc.ca/).
