Every day our mental health, learning disability, community and wellbeing staff uphold our values.
Every day they help Yorkshire people reach their potential and live well in their community.
Every day they do with all of us in mind.
This poem is written by, and for, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
WITH ALL OF US IN MIND
It's right we say thank you to people who care
To the people who you know will always be there.
They are there for your parent, your child or your friend,
They're there when your dark days just don't seem to end.
They are there when you're helpless, when you enter this life
And there when you leave it, upholding your rights.
They are there in the background.
Sorting the paperwork, paying the bills,
Emptying bins and counting out pills.
Raising funds and donations, freely giving their time
They're our super heroes. They're yours and they're mine.
They're your neighbour, your family, your colleague, your mate
They're for all of us, every day, carrying the weight
and the duty, the vocation to care.
It's right that we thank them
Because they're always there.
You're grateful, they say. You're grateful for who?
We're the ones who want to say thank you, to you.
Thank you for having us there on your side
We're not health or care workers -
We are guests in your lives.
We're honoured and humbled to give you our care
To travel beside you and with you to where
your potential will take you.
Thank you for letting us come to your home
Or have you at our place
Or just chat on the phone.
Thank you for teaching us, shaping our views
For not letting life stop you. It's you who enthuse
our passion for caring, our strength to succeed.
For letting us be who you turn to in need.
Thank you for giving us moments to care
Thanks for inspiring the values we share.
So next time there's a moment our lives are entwined
Remember we care
With all of us in mind.
