I had the chance to take the family up to Dinkey Creek and enjoy a warm summer afternoon. Should I say very hot in the valley but only around 70 degrees in Dinkey Creek. The Slicks and Honeymoon Pools are located at the end of the road in the campgrounds of Dinkey Creek. It's a $3.00 entrance fee to get in for the day use but well worth it. You can drive right to the Slicks. The kids called it "Natures Waterpark" although swim at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty. Pack a day lunch and take the 40 minute drive from the Dinkey Creek turn off from Highway 168 in Shaver Lake. Of course, later in the season the waters not so rough.
