The Office for the Promotion of Women in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (SciWomen) was established in 2006 to serve faculty, post-doctoral, and graduate and undergraduate women working and studying in the science, social science, engineering, and mathematics disciplines at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Led by Joan W. Bennett, Associate Vice President and Professor II of Plant Biology and Pathology, SciWomen provides resources and support for engagement and success in the sciences. It acts as a catalyst and partner in achieving diversity, contributes to developing an enriched workforce for the 21st century, seeks to identify and support visionary leaders; and serves as a national model for the advancement of women in science within higher education.
