'The big man, with the big voice'. Samuel Astley, a hard working and dedicated musician with a voice worn down by cigarettes and alcohol brings something of a fresh sound into the world from the likes of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Mumford and Sons to name a few.
Since a young age and hearing Dylan's 'Tambourine Man' for the first time, Astley has always had a strong passion for writing music that could make others feel emotion in the same way his own influences have made him feel.

When asked about his writing process he said: 'I never had the easiest youth, so when I write my lyrics, it's about my past experiences, but I like to think people can relate to them'
It's hard to come by a musician that will deliver the goods live. However, Astley does not disappoint. One of his most recent performances at the Acoustic Festival of Britain, an encore turned into an entire repeat of his set, with the crowd still wanting more at the end. Along with many other performances, Astley has shared the stage with the likes of Young Rebel Set, Tom Seals and many more.

After releasing his first EP 'Coffee In The Morning' in 2010, Astley has gone from pub performer to local heavy weight with the only direction being up. The recent release of his latest single, 'I'm Gonna Change' has received nothing but positive feedback and has seen Astley into the next stage of his career.
Samuel Astley is definitely a man to keep an eye on 2012.
Astley, manages to simultaneously convey power in his voice and, with a manipulation of tone, create a relaxing sense of calm. -- Hevy Petal. Show less
