In 2015, the U.S. Embassy in Ireland and Ambassador Kevin F. O’Malley launched the Creative Minds Series, which invites prominent U.S. artists, writers, filmmakers, digital culture innovators, and musicians to share their experience with young Irish audiences. The goal is to find ways to create new collaborations and encourage more creative economic linkages between young people in the United States and Ireland.
The U.S. Embassy’s fourth annual economic conference was held on April 23rd, 2015 at the Ambassador’s Residence in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. The event this year focused on the impact of the creative economy on United States-Irish relations.
The conference elaborated on a theme of Ambassador O’Malley’s Creative Minds series and engaged prominent U.S. and Irish leaders to share insights on the impact of creativity on building ecosystems of innovation. Over 50 speakers from diverse creative sectors came together for the day-long event including senior executives from Intel, Dell, Linkedin, Disney, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Endowment for the Arts and many others.
