Thomas Woodcock, M.D., oncologist, Norton Cancer Institute, discusses Cologuard, a new screening options for patients at low to moderate risk for developing colon cancer.
Most men and women are advised to have their colon cancer screening at age 50. People with a family history should speak with their doctor about getting one sooner. African Americans also have a higher risk of colon cancer and doctors recommend they begin their screening colonoscopy at age 45.
