Denver Open Media has been the stage and support for several videos featured on the nationofstrangers YouTube channel. Many of the videos here could not be possible without their generous contribution to the arts and education.

Public Access is a right for all Americans, yet most public access channels in markets across the United States are under staffed and extremely limited in what they can do for their communities. Since 2006 Denver Open Media has stood out as an example of what is possible for the community. With studios, equipment, and staff available to train and help content contributors. A variety of web series, comedians, writers, musicians, journalists, and more have honed skills, found audiences, and propelled their careers thanks to Denver Open Media.

A new RFP developed by the City of Denver closes down the studios at 700 Kalamath and moves equipment to the City Mayor's Office. It also budgets for one single staff member to manage the public access channel.

The community will then be without studios and support for 2-3 years until a new Rocky Mountain PBS studio is fully functioning.
